Billing Coordinator for Practice Manager

Essential Functions:

Checking eligibility and benefits verification for treatments and procedures.

Reviewing patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and obtaining any missing information.

Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.

Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.

Checking each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.

Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments.

Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.

Reviewing accounts for insurance of patient follow-up.

Researching and appealing denied claims.

Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.

Setting up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.

Updating billing software with rate changes. Updating cash spreadsheets and running collection reports.

Education, Experience AND Special Skills Required:

A minimum of 1-3 years of recent experience in medical billing required

Preferred experience with Ensora (Fusion) Web Clinic EMR

Prior medical office experience preferred

Excellent computer skills and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of full revenue cycle (processing claims, resolving denials, maximizing reimbursement, A/R) No coding knowledge necessary

Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Office which includes Word, Excel, etc

The ability to make decisions and critical thinking

Job Type: Full-time (30hr/wk minimum)

Pay: Starts at $19/ hr.

Experience: Medical billing: 1 year

Location: One site, with hybrid flexibility possible after first 90 days.

Hours and Location 

• 423 N McLean Blvd, Wichita, KS, 67203 (In Delano, close to downtown Wichita) 
• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM with some flexibility with hours 
• Primarily an in-office position with option for occasional remote work once fully trained
